Bird Control
Bird Control Services
Orswell Environmental are specialist bird control providers, we offer many solutions and an important first step is a site audit where we work with our clients considering the bird species involved and the legal requirements associated and what control methods are available. Correct and accurate identification of the species is paramount as wild birds are protected by law in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside act 1981 and licensing requirements change in different areas of the UK and vary from species to species depending on the risks posed. Our job is to identify the species and come up with an efficient and legal method of control that best suits your site
Bird Dispersal

This is a key first step as law dictates non lethal dispersal in the first instance. Our technicians can utilise many new methods and products such as kites, bird alert systems, lasers, proofing and falconry response using trained hawks and falcons.
Proofing systems

Proofing systems are a possible solution to many problems. We can instal bird spikes, bird netting, fire gel, pin and wire systems and avi shok electrical systems to prevent perching and nesting opportunities.
Falconry

We offer a comprehensive Falconry service which is a non lethal effective solution to almost any bird issue, particularly effective against nesting gulls, roosting pigeons and starlings. Trained hawks and/or falcons are deployed to site for a number of hours depending on the size of the site and bird pressure on site. Flown free, at varying times of the day, the birds quickly establish a territory and the target species quickly learn it is an unsafe place to stay. The level of intensity of the program and length of program very much depends on species and why they are causing an issue – roosting birds are much quicker to disperse than an established breeding population. The only difference though is time.
Lethal Direct Control

As a last result in some cases we can offer Lethal direct control. This can only be consider when all non lethal dispersal methods are ineffective and only if the species can be culled under either a general licence or a class licence . Our aim is to ensure we guide our clients through the process ensuring that we have completely explored all the available options and remain legal and compliant at all times
